Foundation
Make up attitude, is a blog about everything fashion makeup and style. Today I will be sharing with you different types of foundation application, tips and my personal favorites.
The first type of foundation that is one of the most commonly used is powder. You can buy powder foundation in lots of different shades and even if the shade is not perfect, powder is very easy to blend in. You can buy high-end powder foundation or get a drugstore brand. The great thing about powder foundation is that the different brands are pretty much the same quality. There are two different kinds of pressed powder foundations, one kind of powder foundation is a mineral powder foundation this means that you're going to get lighter coverage. The main plus to powder foundation is that it is never going to look very cakey. Also it is easier to layer a a concealer underneath it. The other kind of powder foundation is a full coverage foundation. The foundation has to be applied more carefully and should be used with a brush called a kabuki brush. This foundation will not have to have to have a concealer underneath it because it will give you maximum coverage already.
~My personal favorite powder foundation is a mineral foundation. It gives you the least coverage out of every foundation (that will be talked about in this post) and it looks most natural. This foundation is called provocateur pressed mineral powder this is by tarte cosmetics and has many different shades. This foundation has barely any coverage but has a really nice matte finish. This foundation is for people who are either younger or looking for a wearable foundation. The foundation has SPF eight to which is really nice during the summer because you don't have to layer as much of the heavy sunscreen underneath. The packaging of this foundation is also very stylish and nice which makes it a little more appealing to consumers. You can buy foundation at sephora or you can purchase it at a cosmetics store.
The next kind of foundation is called a liquid foundation. This is the most common kind of foundation, for people looking for a more heavy coverage foundation. Unlike powder foundation, will liquid foundation is going to do, is basically create to the second layer of the “skin.” The way to apply liquid foundation is a little bit different than all the others. You have to apply a base or “primer.” My favorite primer is by smashbox and it's called photo ready primer. If you would like to see a primer blog post then please comment. Also there is a specific type of brush for liquid foundation. It is called a “foundation brush” the foundation brush brush I like to use, is the Sonia Kashuk foundation brush. These brushes his are typically about 1 inch tall answer 1 cm wide they're not very dense brushes and they have a curved shape on the top. After you apply your foundation primer dot the foundation on your face and blend starting up and going down. Usually when you're buying a liquid foundation you should get it matched to your face because they are not as blendable as powder foundations. Also one of the main differences is that usually high end brands of liquid foundation tend to be better than drugstore foundations. You can find a liquid foundation, at almost any store that supplies makeup.
~My favorite liquid foundation is called cover girl smoothers. I don't wear this foundation a lot to except to for nice events or on clients. Usually you want to find the foundation that has no oil because this could create a breakout on your skin. This is one of the problems with some high-end makeup artistry brands like MAC cosmetics. So find a foundation that is tested by dermatologists or that just has no oil and get it color matched. What I like about the cover girl foundation is that they have many different shades along with the aspect of that it won't clog your pores because of their formula. This is actually a drugstore foundation so it can be found at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, and any other local drugstore. This liquid foundation is super blendable and provides a great matte finish as well.
The last kind of foundation I want to talk about is called cream foundation. The foundation is the heaviest coverage foundation and is usually just used for photography or shows. The texture of a cream foundation is basically like a MAC paint pot or a cream eyeshadow. You create cream foundations from a high-end department store brands are or even the drugstore but what is surprising about this kind of foundation, is that in my opinion the best of our from the drugstore. The foundation should be applied with a dense brush and then blended out this will ensure that your makeup is not going to look cakey or going to look streaky throughout the day. You're going to want to invest in a good brush to apply your cream foundation with. My all-time favorite brush is by Sigma makeup and it is called the round top kabuki or the F 82 brush. I've been using this brush for five months and it's by far my favorite foundation brush. You should also apply a good mattifier because the cream foundations can sometimes make your face look a bit oily.
~My favorite cream foundation is called the L'Oreal Paris true match super lendable compact makeup. This foundation also has SPF 17 so in the summer, again you will not have to apply so much sunscreen. I love L'Oreal foundations because they range in so many different colors for every skin tone this foundation is a drugstore foundation and comes with a mere and the applicator. I love the foundation for its creamy consistency and because it is so blendable. Since its foundation is drugstore again is cheaper than a high-end foundation but you get the exact same quality. For younger people foundation should not be used because it is very heavy and more for people that have more acne or more redness on the face.
I hope you learned something about the different kinds of foundations. Please comment other topics make the fashion and style posts that you would like to read.
